LED Light Therapy for me

Is LED Light Therapy for me?

Light emitting diode (LED) therapy is a treatment procedure used to address various skin conditions. Unlike laser therapy that utilizes light waves at high energy, LED light therapy is gentle and safe. LED therapy has been used for many decades. The idea was originated from NASA where LED light was used in experiments on plant growth on the Space Shuttle in the 1980s.

These days, the technology is widely used by the medical profession to treat various skin conditions and for skin rejuvenation and anti-ageing purposes. This type of therapy relies on the penetration of the skin surface by the light of various coloured wavelengths above the UV spectrum of 400 nm.

Upon the application of LED light on skin, the light stimulates the cells to produce adenosine triphosphate (ATP), which is the energy form used by the cells of the body. Fibroblast cells in the dermis of the skin use ATP to produce collagen and elastin, responsible for skin’s firmness and elasticity. The process of enhancement of energy storage in the skin may lead to the renewal of connective tissue and reduces the appearance of premature skin ageing.

LED Light therapy is a non-invasive and effective skin and wounds healing and skin rejuvenation treatment which has offers many benefits.
